SIR,
I have the honour to report to you, in accordance with Section 20 of the Metalliferous-
Mines Regulation Act, 1872, and the Quarries Act, 1894, that during last year I exercised
the duties of an Inspector of Mines and Quarries, and that in doing so I acted as
assistant to and under the direction of Mr. J. M. Ronaldson, the Chief Inspector of the
West of Scotland District.
