The total charge for the Committee on Army and Navy Votes is, therefore, 15, 1567.

(e) Extra pay to a Staff Captain in the War Office. The duties are now performed without extra pay.

The Inspection Staff inspects in detail both the Naval and Army Warlike Stores, as well as those supplied to the Colonies and India. The total value of the Stores to be inspected is approximately 3,600,0001. Towards the expense of the inspection, which (including 99,000l. for Stores used in proof and inspection) amounts to about 243,000l., a sum of 106,000 is taken as an Appropriation in Aid on account of Stores inspected for the Navy.
