Special Sub-Head B., REPORT OF THE COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL. 1. EXPENDITURE in excess of the Estimate has taken place under Sub-Heads A, B, D and G. 2. The Sub-Head Ha has been re-opened to record a small sum expended in connection with the Royal Visit in 1904. 3. A detailed Statement of the Expenditure under Sub-Head B, "New Works," is New Works. appended to the Account. From this it appears that the gross under-expenditure was 22,113l. 88. Ed., and the gross over-expenditure 23,737. 11s. 4d. Treasury sanction, where required, has been obtained for special works not estimated for and for excesses.
