A BILL [AS AMENDED BY STANDING COMMITTEE DJ INTITULED An Act to amend the Petroleum Acts, 1871 BE it the advice and consent of the Loty E it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, 5 as follows: A.D. 1926. of Definition petroleum" and petroleum 1.-(1) Section three of the Petroleum Act, 1871, shall cease to have effect, and that Act shall have effect as if the expression "petroleum spirit were therein substituted for the expression " petroleum to which this spirit." 10 Act applies" wherever that expression occurs. 15 20 (2) For the purposes of the Petroleum Acts, 1871 and 1879, and of this Act unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them respectively, that is to say 66 'petroleum " includes crude petroleum, oil made from petroleum, or from coal, shale, peat or petroleum spirit" means such petroleum as when 34 & 35 Vict. c. 105. |
