Cottage Hospital Charity.

SCHEDULE.

Scheme for the application or management of the following
Charities:-

(1) The Charity called or known as the Passmore
Edwards District Cottage Hospital at Tilbury 5
in the County of Essex;

(2) The Charity known as the Seamen's Hospital Society in the County of London.

1. In this Scheme unless the context otherwise requires the following expressions shall have the following meanings :— 10 The expression "the Passmore Charity" shall mean the above-mentioned Charity called or known Passmore Edwards District Cottage Hospital; The expression "the Passmore Hospital shall mean the Hospital of the Passmore Charity; The expression "the Singhanee Ward Fund" shall mean the investments in the Schedule hereto held by "The Official Trustees of Charitable Funds" and now constituting the Singhanee Ward Fund and the investments from time to time representing the same.

2. The Passmore Charity and the endowments thereof specified in the Schedule hereto and all other the endowments (if any) of the Passmore Charity shall be administered and managed subject to and in conformity with the provisions of this Scheme by the body corporate called the Seamen's Hospital 25 Society as the Trustees of the Passmore Charity. "

3. All freehold and leasehold hereditaments belonging to or held in trust for the Passmore Charity shall so far as the same are not already so vested forthwith vest in the said body corporate for all the estate and interest therein belonging to or 30 held in trust for the Passmore Charity.

4. The Passmore Hospital shall be maintained as a hospital primarily for the benefit of persons connected with Tilbury Docks and of the shipping community in the said docks and of the population of the district included in the Orsett Poor 35 Law Union Provided nevertheless that the ward of the Passmore Hospital known as the Singhanee Ward shall be used exclusively for native Indian patients.

6. Any ward or wards in the Passmore Hospital other than the Singhanee Ward may with the approval of the Charity Commissioners be appropriated for the reception of paying patients being persons connected with the said docks or members 10 of the shipping community in the said docks or resident in the district included in the Orsett Poor Law Union The fees to be paid by such patients shall be at such rate or rates as shall from time to time be approved by the Charity Commissioners.

7. The Charity Commissioners may from time to time in the exercise of their ordinary jurisdiction establish Schemes for the alteration of any of the provisions of this Scheme as if those provisions had been made by the Founder in the case of a Charity having a Founder.

8. Any question as to the construction of this Scheme or as to the regularity of the validity of any acts done or about to be done under this Scheme shall be determined conclusively by the Charity Commissioners upon such application made to them for the purpose as they think sufficient.

ENDOWMENTS OF THE PASSMORE CHARITY.

The hereditaments known as the Passmore Edwards District Cottage Hospital being the hereditaments comprised in a lease dated 30th June 1896 and made between the East and West 30 India Dock Company of the one part and Champion Branfill Russell and two others of the other part and the hereditaments comprised in a lease dated 25th October 1900 and made between the same parties and held so long as the premises are used for the purposes of a hospital only for not exceeding 99 years from 35 the 25th March 1896.

The following investments held by "The Official Trustees of Charitable Funds" and constituting the Singhanee Ward Fund :

£1,144 India 4 per cent. Stock 1950-55.
£264 78. 3d. 31 per cent. Conversion Stock.
