(University of Reading) Bill. MEMORANDUM. In March 1926, University College, Reading, was granted a charter constituting the college the University of Reading. The object of the Bill is to include the University of Reading in the group of universities (Durham, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Bristol) which form the constituency known as the Combined English Universities. The effect of the Bill, if passed into law, would be to add some hundreds of electors to a constituency of 6,513 electors. |
