(1) Where the office of a registration officer is declared by the Registrar-General to be a salaried office the following provisions shall thenceforth have effect with respect to the district or sub-district in registration question offices. (4) The expenses incurred in connection with the administration and audit of the fund to such an amount 25 as may be allowed by the Treasury shall be paid out of the fund. 4.-(1) It shall be lawful for the Minister of Health Power to (hereinafter referred to as the Minister) by order to increase increase any of the fees fixed by the Registration Acts statutory 30 to an extent not exceeding fifty per cent., and from time to time to vary the amount of the increase, subject to such limitation as aforesaid. (2) Where such an order has been made, it shall be the duty of every registration officer who is not a salaried 35 officer to account for and pay into the Central Fees Fund so much of the fees received by him as represents the increase effected by the order, subject to such deduction as the Registrar-General may allow as remuneration to him for the trouble and expense of collecting and fees. The power of the Registrar-General under section five of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1836, to make regulations subject to the approval of the Minister as to the duties of the Registrar-General and the clerks, officers and servants of the General Register Office, and 5 of registration officers, shall include power to provide by the regulations for the performance of duties and services connected with or incidental to the provisions of the Registration Acts and for enabling such fees and allowances as may be prescribed to be charged for the 10 duties and services for which provision is so made. 6. (1) Any person required by the Registration Acts to give information concerning a birth may, within three months from the date of the birth, give the information by making and signing in the presence of 15 and delivering to such registration officer as may be prescribed a declaration in writing of the particulars required to be registered concerning the birth. (2) The registration officer by whom the declaration is so attested shall send the declaration to the registra- 20 tion officer whose duty it is to make the entry in the register, who shall in the prescribed manner enter the birth in the register. (3) An entry so made shall be deemed for the purposes of the Registration Acts to have been signed 25 by the person who signed the declaration, and a person making a declaration in pursuance of this section shall be deemed to comply with the provisions of the Registration Acts as to the giving of information concerning a birth, and with any requisition of the registration 30 officer made under the Registration Acts to attend and give information concerning the birth. (4) Section six of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1874, is hereby repealed: Provided that the fee fixed by that Act for the 35 purposes of that section shall be deemed to be the fee fixed by the Registration Acts for the purposes of this section and shall be subject to be increased under this Act accordingly. (5) The Minister or the Registrar-General with the 40 consent of the Minister may by regulations extend this section subject to the necessary modification to the registration of deaths and still births. and Marriages). 7.
