CONSTITUTION ADOPTED NOVEMBER 15, 1881, WITH SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS. WE, the survivors of the Boston Public Schools of 1830 and prior, desirous of perpetuating the memories and associations of our school-boy days, and for the promoting of brotherly love and kindly feeling among ourselves and those who succeed us, hereby unite to form an Association, to be known as THE OLD SCHOOL-BOYS OF BOSTON, and do adopt and establish the following RULES AND REGULATIONS. First. The Government of this Association shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and nine Directors, -to be chosen annually; the first Annual Meeting to be held November 15th, 1881. Second. Five members of the Government shall constitute a quorum sufficient to transact any business of the Association. Third. Any gentleman is eligible to membership of this Association who has been a pupil at any Public School of the City of Boston, or any of its annexes, at any period fifty years prior to his application for membership, and is approved by the Directors. Fourth. The Government of this Association is authorized to call special meetings whenever a majority of its members shall so direct, or upon a written request to them of any five of its members. Fifth. An admission fee of One Dollar shall be paid, for the purpose of defraying any necessary expenses the Government may incur, such sum to be paid when the Constitution is signed. Sixth. Any alteration of these Rules and Regulations may be made at the Annual Meeting, or any Special Meeting called for the purpose. |
