ΝΟΤΕ.

AT the twenty-third annual meeting of the Old School Boys of Boston, held Nov. 21, 1902, it was proposed to publish a new Register of members, present and past; also a history of the formation and development of the Association. The proposal was unanimously approved by the meeting, and it was voted to appoint Messrs. Merrill N. Boyden, William W. Doherty, and Benjamin B. Whittemore, a committee of three, to obtain contributions from members, with power to issue a book when sufficient funds had been collected for that purpose.

In the prosecution of the imposed duty, the Committee were greatly pleased by the enthusiastic response of the members generally. As the proceedings of the annual meetings had never been published by the Association, its early history was unfamiliar to the majority of living members (whose admission was of more or less recent date), and authentic information would doubtless be highly prized by them. The Committee, on examining the records of the Secretaries and Historians, found an embarrassing abundance of most interesting matter, from which this work has been compiled, preferably using such portions as bear most directly upon the school system of the time of the speakers.

For the Committee,

MERRILL N. BOYDEN,

Chairman.

MERRIL N. BOYDEN.
