The rates shown below are those in force as from 1st July, 1924 and are applicable to Officers serving prior to the 5th October, 1925. Revised rates applicable to Officers of the ranks marked †, who entered on or after 5th October, 1925, are shown under item 15. *Mates and Lieutenants (Ex Mate) (General Service, S. and W/T), who were promoted to the rank of Mate prior to 1 January 1920, are to be paid :— Mate (acting or confirmed) Lieutenant (acting or confirmed) on promotion Command money when in command of ships or Destroyer Flotillas Command money when appointed as Chief of Staff or Captain of Fleet Entertaining allowance when appointed as Chief of Staff or Captain of Fleet.
