Amendment Bill,

MEMORANDUM.

The object of this Bill is to simplify conveyancing and the system of titles to land in Scotland by providing for the omission of unnecessary clauses, and for the shortening of deeds. The Bill is the result of the deliberations of a committee representative of the legal societies of Scotland, which was appointed about 12 years ago by the Lord Advocate to consider proposals for the further simplification of conveyancing in Scotland.
