H.-RECRUITING EXPENSES.

The Officers employed on recruiting duties are Retired Naval and Marine Officers who receive a salary in addition to their retired pay. The Men employed are Naval and Marine Pensioners who receive a flat rate of 10s. or 12s. a day to cover all expenses except kit, with additional allowances of 1s. a day to men employed in the London District, and 1s. a day to the Senior Headquarters Recruiter of each District.

The salary of the Director of Naval Recruiting and the pay of the Head Office Staff are provided for under this Subhead.

H.--RECRUITING EXPENSES. No variation.

I.-FIELD ALLOWANCES.

Allowances payable to Naval and Marine Officers, Seamen and Marines employed in operations on shore, when not provided with quarters at the public expense, nor in receipt of lodging money.

Normal provision only required for 1924-25. Extra provision was required in 1923-24 on account of the situation in the Near East.
