11. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Shops Sale of 10 (Early Closing) Act, 1920, as amended by the Shops fruit, &c., (Early Closing) Act, 1920, Amendment Act, 1921, or any order or regulation made thereunder, it shall be lawful for the owner of a licensed hotel to sell or cause to be sold at any hour fruit, table waters, sweets, chocolates 15 or other sugar confectionery or ice cream or tobacco, cigars or cigarettes to any resident in the hotel.

13.—(1) After the expiration of six months from the Unlicensed commencement of this Act, no person, being the owner or hotels. occupier of an hotel which is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of this Act, shall describe his premises in any advertisement, sign or in any manner whatsoever 40 as an hotel unless such description is accompanied in a conspicuous manner by the word "unlicensed."

(2) Any person contravening this provision shall be deemed to be holding himself out as a person in possession of an excise licence for the sale of intoxicating liquors.

(3) If any person acts in contravention of this section,
he shall be liable to a fine not exceeding in the case of the 5
first offence ten pounds, and in the case of any subsequent
offence twenty pounds.

14. The Licensing (Consolidation) Act, 1910, shall
(so far as the same is applicable and is not inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act) apply with respect to a 10
licensed hotel or licensed restaurant as though the sale
of intoxicating liquors were authorised by a justices'
licence granted in accordance with the provisions of that
Act.

15. It shall be lawful for the owner of a licensed 15
hotel, his servant or agent to refuse to receive or provide
or continue to provide accommodation, food or refresh-
ment for a traveller or guest without giving any reason
for so doing.

16. The owner of an hotel licensed under this Act 20
shall possess an innkeepers' lien and also the power of sale
given by the Innkeepers' Act, 1878.

17. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of the Innkeepers' Liability Act, 1863, the owner of a licensed hotel or a licensed restaurant shall not in any case or 25 under any circumstances be liable in the absence of agreement to make good to any person any loss of or restaurant. injury to goods or property of any description brought to his licensed hotel or licensed restaurant to a greater amount than five hundred pounds.

18. One of His Majesty's Secretaries of State shall regulations. forthwith make, and may from time to time amend, regulations for prescribing anything which under this 35 Act is to be prescribed, particularly as to the manner and form in which applications for a certificate and an hotel licence or restaurant licence are to be made, and as to the notices to be given in respect of the same and generally for carrying this Act into effect, and all regula- 40 tions so made shall forthwith be laid before both Houses of Parliament:
