makes it necessary that certain sections have cattle shipped in to them. But this is leading into a large question. We could take a week for the discussion of this question, and it would take a considerable time for me to try to outline the testimony that has been brought before us.

Have you any further statement, Mr. Morton?

Mr. MORTON. It occurred to me that I have heard it said that the fame of the high Sierras has spread even to the Middle West and the far East. Mr. James Simpson, who is president and general manager now of Marshal Field's took a trip out here and was so enthused over it that he is advertising it to all of his friends in the Middle West, and this party that he brought with him in a special car were greatly enthused, and they have passed the word along. That is also true of Mr. Reynolds, president of the First National Bank of New York, who made a trip to California and took in the high Sierras. In 1924 when I was up there Mr. McAdoo's son was up to the lakes fishing. And I believe that the fame of the high Sierras, especially that section around Mount Whitney, is becoming more noted right along, and I believe that that area should be inclosed in a national park for its protection. That is all I have to

say.

Senator ODDIE. We thank you very much for your statement. If there are no further statements to be presented at this time the hearing will be adjourned.

(Thereupon, at 12.30 o'clock p. m., Saturday, September 26, 1925, the committee adjourned to reconvene at Salt Lake City, Utah, Tuesday, September 29, 1925.)
