The above-mentioned lands are more particularly delineated and coloured pink on a plan (being a copy of the deposited plan) in duplicate sealed with the Official Seal of the Minister of Health and marked "Plan referred to in the Portsmouth Order 1924 " of which duplicate plan one part is deposited in the office of the Minister of Health and the other shall be deposited by the Town Clerk of Portsmouth in his office within fourteen days from the date of this Order.

BOROUGH OF STOKE-ON-TRENT.

Provisional Order to enable the Stoke-on-Trent Corporation
to put in force the Compulsory Clauses of the
Lands Clauses Acts.

WHEREAS the Mayor Aldermen and Burgesses of the Borough 5
of Stoke-on-Trent (hereinafter referred to as "the Corporation")
acting by the Council as the local authority for that Borough for
the purposes of the Public Health Act 1875 require to purchase
and take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the
purposes of widening opening enlarging or otherwise improving 10
the streets known as Hartshill Road Havelock Place London
Road Snowhill Stone Road Uttoxeter Road and Weston Road
in the said Borough :

Now therefore the Minister of Health in pursuance of the 38 & 39 Vict. powers given to him by Section 176 of the Public Health Act 15 1875 and by any other Statutes in that behalf hereby orders that from and after the date of the Act of Parliament confirming this Order the following provisions shall have effect that is to say:

Compulsory powers of purchase.

Short title.

1. The Corporation shall be empowered for the purposes 20 aforesaid to put in force with reference to the lands described in the Schedule hereto (subject to the continuance of existing public rights of highway if any) the powers of the Lands Clauses Acts as modified by the Acquisition of Land (Assessment of Compensation) Act 1919 with respect to the purchase and taking 25 of lands otherwise than by agreement or any of them.

2. This Order may be cited as the Stoke-on-Trent Order 1924.

in duplicate sealed with the Official Seal of the Minister of
Health and marked “Plan referred to in the Stoke-on-Trent
Order 1924" of which duplicate plan one part is deposited in
the office of the Minister of Health and the other shall be
deposited by the Town Clerk of Stoke-on-Trent in his office
within fourteen days from the date of this Order.
