Make provision for the better drainage of the area A.D. 1927. drained by the River Ouse and its tributaries,

and for purposes connected therewith.

HEREAS with the object of securing the better drainage of the area drained by the River Ouse and its tributaries provision was made by the Ouse Drainage Order, 1920 (in this Act referred to as "the 5 Order of 1920"), for constituting a certain area a drainage

district for the purposes of Part II of the Land Drainage 24 & 25 Vict. Act, 1861, by the name of the Ouse Drainage District c. 133. and for constituting a drainage board for the said district, and for certain supplemental and consequential matters:

And whereas the Order of 1920 was confirmed by the Land Drainage (Ouse) Provisional Order Confirmation 10 & 11 Act, 1920:

And whereas the provisions of the Order of 1920 have been found to be defective and the object aforesaid 15 has not been attained, and it is therefore necessary to make further and better provision for securing the object aforesaid, and in particular to abolish the drainage district constituted by the Order of 1920 and, in lieu thereof, to provide for the constitution for the purposes 20 of Part II of the Land Drainage Act, 1861, of two new drainage districts consisting respectively of such areas as is hereinafter in this Act provided:

And whereas it is expedient to make provision with respect to the constitution of a drainage board for each
