He enlisted Aug. 29, 1862, in the 148th Regiment, New York Volunteers, and served till the close of the Civil War. He was in many of the important battles in Virginia, and was at the surrender at Appomattox. They lived in Seneca Falls, N. Y. He died Aug. 22, 1891.

They lived in Illinois during a part of their married life. He was afterwards a mining superintendent in Negaunee, Mich., where he died June 1, 1875, aged 56 years. She was living, in 1896, in Southampton, L. I. They had one child, who died a few hours after birth.
