1760 JANE COMPTON,7 b. Sept. 9, 1807; m. Azel Johnson Shepherd, who was an engineer on a Pacific steamer. He died Jan. 24, 1885. His widow is living (1898) in Newark, N. J. No children.

1761 RACHEL,7 b. June 9, 1812; m. James McClaskey, and died in Bloomfield, N. J., May 11, 1891. No children:

702 THOMAS SAYRE, born November 9, 1773, probably in Essex County, N. J.; married Isabel Martin, who was born January 13, 1784, and died November 28, 1858. He was a farmer in Preston County, W. Va. He removed to Champaign County, O., about 1809, or 1810, and in 1812 bought a quarter section of government land there. He served in the War of 1812, and died September 11, 1847.

1764 JOSEPH,7 b. May 17, 1804. He was a farmer in Nodaway, Mo., where he died about 1860.

1765 JOHN, b. Jan. 13, 1806. He was killed by the Indians, during the Black Hawk War. Was unmarried.

1766 REBECCA,7 b. March 8, 1808; m. John Swan, of Bellefontaine, O. She died about 1860.

1767 DANIEL,7 b. April 24, 1810; d. July 17, 1835, unmarried. He was a teacher in Indiana.

1768 EPHRAIM,7 b. April 9, 1813; d. Aug. 30, 1841, unmarried. He was a teacher

in Missouri.

1769 WILLIAM,7 b. Aug. 16, 1815; m.

Gratia. He served three years in the

13th Ohio Regiment during the Civil War. He was a harness-maker in Huron, Kansas, and died Nov. 9, 1896, àged eighty-two years.

1770 NANCY JANE,7 b. May 21, 1819; m. Samuel Edison. They lived at Wabash, Ind. She died July 23, 1838.

1771 MARY,7 b. Dec. 25, 1820; m. Dr. H. Cartmell. They lived in Catawba, O. She died Aug. 10, 1850.

1772 SAMUEL,7 b. Nov. 14, 1822; m. Feb. 15, 1853, Mary McClanahan, who was born in Urbana, O., Nov. 4, 1827. He is a hotel-keeper in Urbana, O.

1778 ISABEL WOODS,7 b. Oct. 18, 1804; m. May 3, 1825, George Shaw, a farmer, of Unionville, Putnam Co., Mo. Had eleven children. He and seven sons were in the Civil War, and three sons died in the service.
