SPECIAL REPORT. THE SELECT COMMITTEE appointed to join with a Committee of the House of Lords to consider all Consolidation Bills of the present Session, to whom the Petroleum (Consolidation) Bill [Lords], now pending in the Lords, was referred :— The Committee have made only one or two verbal alterations in the Bill. They are satisfied that it is pure Consolidation, that it reproduces the existing law, and that it ought to be allowed to proceed. 11th July, 1928. Sir Malcolm Macnaghten is heard to move that Sections 30 and 31 of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1875, be included in this Bill. Mr. Hudson is heard to second the Motion. The Lord in the Chair is heard to move that the question of the inclusion of these sections be postponed. Sir Malcolm Macnaghten is heard to agree, and to move that the Ministry of Health be asked to inform the Committee of their views on this question, and also as to the inclusion of the law relating to bread and horseflesh in this Bill.
