(a) Subject to minor fluctuations, the number of cases under the Employers' Liability Act, 1880, has steadily diminished since the passing of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906. The total number of cases under the former Act taken into court in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1924 was 68, and the total amount of damages awarded £6,394.
