It is proposed to reduce the rate of this tax from 1s. to 6d. in the £ as respects profits arising after 30th June, 1923, and to reduce proportionately the maximum amount of duty payable in certain cases under proviso (b) to section 52 (1) of the Finance Act, 1920. |
