STATEMENT showing DETAILS of EXPENDITURE incurred in connexion with the PURCHASE of LAND and BUILDINGS during 1921-22. Payments in respect of redemption of tithe-rent charge. (a) Includes a sum of approximately 8,0001. in respect of the purchase of land adjacent to Kenley Common, which was handed over to the City of London Corporation in exchange for land on Kenley Common required permanently in connexion with the Aerodrome. (b) Includes a sum of 3,6731. 8s. which was spent by the Department on repairs to a sea-wall, north of the aerodrome, alleged to have been damaged by bomb-dropping in the vicinity. (c) Includes a payment of 6,1691. 12s. 4d. in respect of tithe-rent redemption, and a sum of 406!. 12s. 7d. (against which may be set off a sum of 1751. received and credited to Vote 9, During the year 1921-22 no land, the property of the Air Council, was transferred (save that mentioned in (a) above), except such as was surplus to Royal Air Force requirements and handed over to the Disposal and Liquidation Commission. |
