INTRODUCTION

Senator MONTOYA. The subcommittee will be in order.

This afternoon the subcommittee on Treasury, Postal Service and General Government Appropriations will commence taking testimony on supplemental requests for fiscal year 1975 and the fiscal year 1976 budget estimate as contained in the President's Budget.

This afternoon we shall receive testimony from four agencies of the Treasury Department. Normally, the committee hears the Secretary of the Treasury first and then follows with testimony from the agency representatives. This afternoon, however, we will lead off with the Bureau of Government Financial Operations, and we will hear from Secretary Simon on April 29, 1975.

We depart from tradition in order to accommodate and conform to Mr. Simon's schedule.

We will now proceed to receive testimony from the various Treasury bureaus. The first is the Bureau of Government Financial Operations. Our witness will be Mr. Dario A. Pagliai, and will you please identify your aides here this afternoon.
