He was pressed to tell how big the stone was, but he could not explain. "Was it as big as my fist?" asked the nervous judge, who had taken over the examination from the lawyers, in the hope of getting some results. "It ban bigger," the Swede replied. Two lawyers before a probate judge recently got into a wrangle. At last one of the disputants, losing control over his emotions, exclaimed to his opponent: "Sir, your are, I think, the biggest ass I ever had the misfortune to set eyes on." "Order! Order!" said the judge gravely. "You seem to forget that I am in the room." The Green Bag. Consolation to Patient-And Efficacy of the Remedy.A German doctor learned in medicine but not in the English language, filled a blank for a prescription and told the patient: "Take dot and if you vas not dead in the morning I change der medicine." Next morning he found the patient elated, who exclaimed: "God bless you doctor! It was hard to chew and swallow, but I eat the whole paper up, and feel so much better!" PROFESSIONAL NEWS. Hon. John A. Goodall, has been appointed County Judge of Adair County. He was an able young lawyer practicing at Westville at the time Judge W. A. Corley was involved in matters out of which charges were perfered against him, and which terminated in Corley being ousted from the bench. Mr. Goodall was at once ap· pointed, and is making good. Williams, of Norman, Oklahoma, covered himself with everlasting glory in the acquittal of Lorena Mathews. She being accused of being an accomplice in the murder of her husband. Mr. Williams formulated a sound theory of defense and established it, by evidence and eloquent argument. Among the new and promising lawyers located at Pawhuska is Hon. D. B. Horsley. He is a close student of the law and of genial disposition-One who will attract and retain customers. He has a neat office and a good working library. Hon. W. A. Woodruff, a graduate in law, from the Georgetown, D. C. University has been elected County Attorney of Adair County. In the performance of his official duties he is receiving universal commendation.
