Ball, Thomas H., lawyer and statesman of Houston, Texas., was born Jan. 14, 1859, in Huntsville, Texas. He has been president of the law class in the University of Virginia. In 1897-1905 he was a member of congress.

Ballagh, James Curtis, educator and author of Philadelphia, Pa., was born in 1866 in Brownsburg, Va. Since 1895 he has been associate professor of American history at Johns Hopkins university of Baltimore. He is the author of White Servitude in the Colony of Virginia and other works.

Ballantine, William Gay, educator and author of Springfield, Mass., was born Dec. 7, 1848, in Washington, D. C. Since 1897 he has been professor in the International Young Men's Christian Association Training school. He is the author of Inductive Logic.

Ballentine, Robert F., brewer and banker of 134 Cedar st., New York City, was born Jan. 3, 1836, in Albany, N. Y. He is president of the P. Ballentine and Sons.

Ballard, Aaron Edward,clergyman of Ocean Grove, N.J., was born Dec. 25, 1820, in Bloomfield, NJ. Since 1898 he has been president of the Ocean Grove camp meeting association.

Ballard, Asa N., soldier, educator, physician and surgeon of Birmingham, Ala., was born Oct. 17, 1842, in Wilmington, Ohio. During the civil war he was lieutenant. For many years he was superintendent of public schools in Ohio, Illinois and Indiana.
