Ashbrook, William A., banker of Johnstown, Ohio, was born July 1, 1867, in Johnstown, Ohio. He has been mayor of his city; and in 1907-17 he was a member of congress. He is cashier of the Citizens' bank.

Ashburn, Jesse Anderson, farmer, clergyman and statesman of Ashburn, N.C., was born Dec. 21, 1861, near Pilot Mountain, N. C. In 1896 he was a member of the North Carolina state senate.

Ashby, Thomas Almond, physician, surgeon, founder and author of Baltimore, Md., was born Nov. 18, 1848, in Warren county, Va. In 1882 he founded the woman's medical college of Baltimore. He is the author of Diseases of Women and other works.
