Alexander, William Gay, general manager and financier of San Jose, Cal., was born Feb. 25, 1867, in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of the board of freeholders who framed the charter of the city of San Jose, Cal. He is now manager of the Sperry Flour company.

Alexander, William H., manufacturer of Beecher Falls, Vt., was born Nov. 24, 1836, in Tunbridge, Vt. In 1856-95 was with the Concord and Montreal railroad. Since 1895 he has been manager of the Beecher Falls company, furniture manufacturers.

Alexander, William Henry, educator and scientist of Galveston, Texas, was born Jan. 10, 1867, in Hopkins county, Texas. He has been professor of mathematics in the Baptist college of Decatur, Texas. He is an observer in the United States weather bureau. He is author of Hurricanes.

Alexander, William Leidy, soldier of Washington, D.C., was born Sept. 9, 1842, in Iowa. In 1863 he became captain of the thirteenth regiment Iowa infantry; and in 1905 attained the rank of brigadier-general, and was retired.

Alexander, William McGinley, merchant and banker of Dry Run, Pa., was born June 6,1860, in that city. He is president of the Path Valley bank.
