The dressed?" (2) "If the contract is completed, can the law be regarded as satisfactory?"-The Household Fire and Carriage Accident Insurance Company (Limited) v. Grant (27 W. R. 858, L. R. 4 Ex. D. 216, and cases there cited); see Smith on Contracts, 7th ed., pp. 153-155. speakers on the affirmative were Messrs. Crosskey, B. Smith, and O'Connor; on the negative, Messrs. Samuel, Coulton, and T. M. Whitehouse, jun. The first point was decided in the affirmative and the second in the negative. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. LEEDS LAW STUDENTS' SOCIETY. An ordinary meeting of this society was held on the 27th ult., in the rooms of the Leeds Law Institute, at half-past seven p.m., at which S. R. Meredith, Esq., presided. Messrs. H. F. Sugden, G. Macguire, B. Hudson, W. Firth, C. Lupton, J. Wade, F. C. T. Naylor, W. A. Lupton, B.A., W. Wright, W. A. Pearson, and C. A. Braim were elected by ballot as members of the society. It was unanimously resolved, upon the motion of Mr. Armstrong, seconded by Mr. Macguire, that Mr. Smurthwaite and Mr. Barrows be sent as delegates to the Congress of Law Students' Societies, to be held in London in November next. The members then discussed the following moot point:-"Is the following dictum of Lord Mansfield good law?-'If an infant pay money with his own hand without a valuable consideration for it, he cannot get it back again.' Mr. W. Wright supported the affirmative, and Mr. J. R. Smith the negative. Mr. Smurthwaite, Mr. Macguire, and the secretary (Mr. H. B. James) took part in the discussion. After a very able summing up of the arguments by the chairman, in which he especially considered the contention of Mr. Smurthwaite in the negative, based upon the Infants' Relief Act, 1874, the meeting decided the question in the negative by a majority of one. A vote of thanks to Mr. Meredith for presiding concluded the meeting. Court Papers. SUPREME COURT OF JUDICATURE. LIST OF APPEALS FOR MICHAELMAS SITTINGS, 1879. 1878.
