9, "An Act authorizing the Issuance and Sale of certain State Bonds, and levying a Tax to provide means for the Payment thereof," have had the same under consideration, report the same back with the following amendments, and recommend its passage as amended:

Amend section 1, line 26, by striking out the word "two," and inserting the word "three." Also, in the same section, line 30, insert the words "and one-fourth" after the word one. Also, in line 37 of the same section, strike out the word "two," and insert the word "three."

Amend section 3, line 13, by inserting after the word "one" the words "and one-fourth."

Mr. Grey, from the Standing Committee on Elections, to which was referred the resolutions contesting the seat occupied by Mr. Terry, have had the same under consideration, and report the same back without recommendation, other than to ask that the contestants be admitted to the floor of the Senate, with consent to discuss their relative claims before the Senate.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.

Mr. Hastings reported that the Standing Committee on Engrossment have carefully compared the following entitled Bill with the original, and found the same correctly engrossed, viz:

Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 18, memorializing the Commander of the Department of the Pacific to establish a Fort at Gravelly Ford, and herewith reports the same back to the Senate.

Mr. Doron, from the Standing Committee on State Affairs, to which was referred the Bill entitled "Senate Bill No. 40, An Act to amend an Act empowering the Governor to appoint Commissioners of Deeds, and to define their duties," reported that they had had the same under consideration, had come to a favorable conclusion thereon, and had directed their chairman to report the same to the Senate without amendments.

Mr. Sumner, from the Committee on Ways and Means, reported that the Committee recommended that two hundred and forty copies of the State Treasurer's Report be printed.

MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS.

Mr. Grey offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That a Committee of seven be appointed by the chair, whose duty it shall be to propose such amendments to the State Constitution as they may on consideration deem proper and necessary.

Mr. Linn, Chairman of Committee on Enrollment, reported that Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 8, "Concerning Printing Governor's Message," Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 20, "Ordering the Printing of Report of the Warden of the State Prison;" Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 21, " In relation to Printing Report of State Mineralogist ;" Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 29, " In relation

to Joint Convention for the Election of United States Senator;" also, Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 36, “In relation to Joint Convention for the election of United States Senator," had been carefully compared with the engrossed resolutions, as passed by the two Houses, found correctly enrolled, and that the same had this day been deposited with the Secretary of State. Also, that Senate Joint Resolution No. 25, "In regard to Indian Claims in Humboldt County;" also, Senate Joint Resolution No. 19, "In relation to the Boundaries of the State of Nevada, and the acceptance of additional Territory ceded by the United States to this State," had been carefully compared with the engrossed resolutions, as passed by the two Houses, found correctly enrolled, and that the same had this day been delivered to the Governor for his approval.

Mr. Mason, from the Standing Committee on Federal Relations, reported that they had had Assembly Joint Resolutions No. 2, Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 2, and Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 3, each in relation to the adoption of the Constitutional Amendments, under consideration, had come to a favorable conclusion thereon, and recommended the passage of Assembly Resolutions. That the Committee failed to discover any material difference in the three foregoing sets of resolutions, all alike abounding in National Patriotism toward our legislative duties; recognizing alike the high and noble patriotism prompting the action of each of the authors of the three sets of resolutions, their reasons for recommending the first-named were simply that they have been legislated upon, and passed the Assembly, and to save time and unnecessary delay; and inasmuch as the discussion of the merits or demerits of these amendments are the current history of the day, the Committee deem it time thrown away to enter into such discussion, and ask their immediate passage.

Mr. Hastings, Chairman of Standing Committee on Engrossment, reported that they had carefully compared the following entitled bill with the original, and had found the same correctly engrossed, viz: Senate Bill No. 9, "An Act authorizing the Issuance and Sale of certain State Bonds, and levying a tax to provide means for the payment thereof," and herewith reports the same back to the Senate.
