NOTE.-Closure by Compartments was also applied on the following occasions :

Business of Supply.

On the 16th March 1905 six days were allocated as follows:

One day to Civil Service Supplementary Estimates in Committee and Resolutions in Committee of Ways and Means.

One day to report of Civil Service and Army Supplementary Estimates and of Votes A and 1 of Navy Estimates; and Report from Committee of Ways and Means.

One day to the Second Reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill.

One day to the Motion that the Speaker leave the Chair on going into Supply on the Army Estimates.

One day on Votes A and 7 of the Army Estimates in Committee.

One day to the Third Reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill and Report of Votes A and 7 of the Army Estimates.

N.B.-Previous to the Order as to Closure, one day was occupied on the Civil Service Supplementary Estimates, one day on Vote A, and one day on Vote 1 of the Navy Estimates.

Consideration of the New Rules of Procedure.

On the 15th April 1907 the proceedings on consideration of the new Rules of Procedure were ordered to be brought to a conclusion on the 16th. The Rules, which had been considered on four days previously, were further considered on the 15th, after the Order was made, and on the 16th.

Total number of occasions from 1887 on which Closure by Compartments has been carried, 15.
