The business has outgrown the accommodation afforded by the present Office. A site has therefore been secured, and the erection of new buildings commenced thereon: provision for the Service is made in the Estimates for 1906-7.
The increase of business rendered the hitherto existing accommodation inadequate. Measures have been taken for the extension of the Office, and provision is made for the continuation of the work in the Estimates of 1906-7.
The Cable Room had to be rendered fireproof before the apparatus for the Switch Room could be fixed.
Preliminary expenditure in connection with proposed new Office.
Preliminary expenditure in connection with the new Post Office provision for the continuation of the Service is made in the Estimates for 1906-7.
The extension of the Office was urgently called for. Provision is made for continuing the work in the Estimates for 1906-7.
The air space available for the staff was insufficient, and alterations were made with a view to affording better accommodation.
This work was undertaken to provide for the security of the telegraph wires and the introduction of secondary batteries.
The Sorting Office was overcrowded and improvement urgently
required. The premises have been re-arranged and further Expenditure to 31st March 1906 accommodation provided.

The accommodation was inadequate. A piece of land adjoining has been rented, and the building (an iron one) extended thereon.
The premises formerly occupied were old and insanitary. The lease having expired, other offices were secured and expenditure incurred on fittings, &c.
