EXPENDITURE in excess of the Estimate has taken place under Sub-Heads B, F, and G. 2. A Statement of Expenditure on "New Works, &c.," included under Sub-Heads Sub-Heads A and F, is appended to the Account. Treasury sanction has been obtained, where necessary, for expenditure not provided for in the Estimate and for excesses. A and F. Sub-HeadA. 3. The gross savings under Sub-Head A, "New Works, &c.," amount to 18,544l., the principal items being : Excesses. Grant. Unexpended. £. 8. d. The gross excesses under Sub-Head A amount to 3,9187., the principal items being: Excess. Sub-Head A. 4. As stated in my Report on the Account of the Public Offices Sites Act, &c., a total New Works. provision of 375,000l. was made under the Public Buildings Expenses Acts 1898 and 1903 for the "Completion of the Admiralty, including Extension," and for "Additional Accommodation." It is estimated that a further sum of 80,000l. will be required out of Voted Moneys for the Residences for the First Lord and the Senior Naval Lord, in lieu of existing residences to be appropriated to official business. The first instalment (10,000l.) of this amount was voted for the service of the year under report, and the sum of 5,460l.-8. 11d. is shown to have been expended on this New Work under Item 1 of Sub-Head A. Surplus. 5. The Amount to be Surrendered is, as shown by the Account, 13,0891. 68. 1d. |
