She would, however, put the bill back in the cycle, which would give him another month. Our office wrote letter to OWCP. Received an interim reply from OWCP dated February 22. Sent another letter from our office to OWCP. Received reply to our letter of February 16; OWCP had no Another letter sent from our office to OWCP after talking with Mrs. Matha Williams at the hospital. Mr. Willson's claim has been turned over to the legal department and a warrant will be issued soon for the $965.50 due. Called Mr. Hickey, OWCP, and asked for information and help on this claim. Mrs. Duckett, OWCP, called but had no record of an out- NO FURTHER INFORMATION FROM OWCP SINCE. GAVE SOME INFO ON THIS TO OUR WASHINGTON OFFICE FOR POSSIBLE USE IN HEARINGS BEFORE SUB-COMMITTEE. Allen called re compensation claim filed at NAS Oceana for hearing loss. Loss of hearing caused him to loose his job as Fire Captain. Is on sick leave now, but will soon run out. Said he would come to office. Came into office. Filed claim 23 June, 1975. Claim number: Called District 25. Talked to Mrs. Darden. She said she would locate claim and call me back. He received a notice that his claim had been approved for a scheduled award. 64 weeks compensation. 328 hearing loss--$650.40 monthNo word yet in our office on award. Mr. A. concerned over scheduled award. The 64 weeks compensation terminate 3 Oct., 1976 at which time he will still need 2 more years in order to retire on optional retirement. Is, of course, eligible to file for disability retirement., Does not want to do this at this time as he feels that his hearing loss award should be for loss of wages instead of a scheduled award. Wants us to pursue this. Must have 20 years as a firefighter to retire on optional. Called Mr. Hendler in national OWCP office. He told me that CASE CLOSED AT THIS POINT. Mr. A. called. Has received approval on disability retirement. Called Oceana. Mr. Taylor claims that everything requested by OWCP has been sent. Donald Frederick claims that they have requested additional information, but Mr. Taylor has not received such a request. Mr. Taylor will write to OWCP. From August, 1976 until the last letter, dated 24 March, 1977, Oceana, Mr. Allen, and our office have been trying to understand just exactly WHAT information OWCP wants.
