Before the close of the meeting, the committee on tribute reported the following, which was unanimously adopted: Resolved, That the Horticultural Society, by the death of their Secretary, M. B. Bateham, have lost a faithful officer, a valuable and useful member, a considerate and sympathizing friend; an ever ready and intelligent instructor in the broad fields of horticulture and agriculture; that society hast lost an honorable Christian gentleman, his family a loving and affectionate husband and parent; and we mourn his loss and sympathize with his family and friends; and we hereby recommend that a suitable record of his valuable work in connection with the Ohio Horticultural Society be prepared for publication in our next annual report.
