A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Welcome to the Chicago Police Department's 1968 Robbery Security Conference. Your interest in behalf of robbery prevention as evidenced by your presence here today, is greatly appreciated. The astounding increase in crime throughout our nation has been the just cause for concern of both citizens and all strata of law enforcement.

Sociological enterprise can recognize the problem and attack its root causes. Meanwhile, society must be protected from the predatory criminal pursuits of the robbery offender. We need your help.

Through our combined efforts we aspire to reduce the number of robberies in the Chicago area. Additionally, through discussion, cooperation and continual liaison we hope to minimize robbery losses and increase the possibility for arrest and successful prosecution should robbery occur.
