the courts of the several States and the United States during the preceding month and printed in local newspapers or elsewhere. Such cases will thus be furnished long before their publication in the regular series of Reports. The aim of this new department will be to furnish to lawyers wide and various information in their profession as promptly and as thoroughly as is possible for a monthly magazine.

The publishers will send the first number of the New Series to all former subscribers who do not expressly discontinue their subscriptions; and it is hoped that the REVIEW, in its new form, will commend itself to all its old friends.

Further particulars of the plan of the AMERICAN LAW REVIEW, NEW SERIES, with a list of articles which are to appear during the next year, will be given in No. 5 of the publishers' advertising paper, "Quillets of the Law," which is to be gratuitously issued Dec. 1, 1879.

Books received in time will be noticed in the January number. To enable the owners of broken sets to complete them at a moderate expense, the publishers offer odd numbers of the REVIEW at the reduced price of 75 cents per number.

The subscription price will remain as before, $5.00 per annum.

The publishers respectfully request that the friends of the REVIEW will, at their earliest convenience, state whether or not in their opinion the Selected Digests of recently published English and American Reports, which the REVIEW has hitherto contained, should be continued in the New Series. If the subscribers desire it, their wishes could be met by supplementary quarterly numbers, which would have the advantage of making the volumes of the Digests separate.
