Independence, diversity, equity and financial freedom drive Dr. Donte A. Flanagan. Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, those drivers are what carried him to a successful career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). He is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), a founding member of National Black Nurses Association of Greater New York City (GNYCBNA), and a board member of the Emory University Nurse Alumni Association. Dr. Flanagan earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Columbia University, Masters of Science in Nursing Anesthesia at Samford University, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Emory University. Prior to launching the release of his highly anticipated memoir, Dream Big, Dr. Flanagan established the Dream Big Mentorship Program, Dr. Flanagan has created a three-tier mentorship program that first, equips registered nurses to become quality perspective nurse anesthesia candidates via GRE prep, interview prep and writing workshops. Secondly, the program sustains mentees through the monthly Dream Big Wellness Support Group, and lastly aims to increase financial literacy, entrepreneurship and wealth generation through financial webinars. By way of his professional work, community involvement and public speaking, Dr. D. A. Flanagan aims to push the profession and culture forward to new heights.
